Intervention Phase

“Intervention” refers to improving compliance with OSHA fall prevention standards, such as proper ladders, scaffolds, guardrails, and training programs, and to implementing controls to prevent exposure to silica dust. We are designing our intervention program by starting from similar programs effective in other settings (for example, the Fall Safe program developed in West Virginia) and modifying them for the Lawrence environment based on our findings form the Assessment Phase. The intervention program developed by Proteccion en Construccion is Leaders in Safe Construction (LISC). Construction Contractors can enroll in this free program. For more informmation CLICK HERE.

Our organizational intervention definition is made up of 5 elements.

intervention

Fall Safe  it is a program developed by the Safety and Health Extension at West Virginia University (WVU).  The overall objective was  to promote an  “ organizational intervention that will provide construction contractors with knowledge, a fall hazard control management accountability system, and incentives to decrease fall hazards on their construction sites” .
