Protección en Construcción (PenC) is a research project that is community-based and community-directed. Contractors, workers, local businesses, community organizations, residents and government agencies are contributing to the project by working in committees, sharing their experiences in interviews and focus groups, and participating in other research programs activities.

All partners share goals, leadership, flexibility, and a responsibility to do no harm to the community through this research project. They are committed to improving the overall working environment of Latino workers and contribute to the overall well-being. The institutional partnership consists of:
